Why we build more than academics at TopNotch WCD.

When we opened TopNotch, most institutes around us were measuring success in one way: marks. And marks matter — we take them seriously, and our results reflect that. But every year, I watched capable, intelligent children walk into interviews, competitions and classrooms and freeze. Not because they didn't know the answer. Because nobody had ever taught them how to say it out loud.

That gap is what WCD means to us — Women & Child Development isn't a name we picked for the acronym. It's a commitment that a child's education doesn't stop at the syllabus. Alongside every subject we teach, we build the things that decide how a child shows up in the world: how they carry themselves, how they handle being wrong in front of others, how they lead a group project instead of hiding at the back of it.

This isn't a side activity we run once a term. It's built into how every class works — in how our teachers give feedback, in the small moments we create for a child to speak up, present, and be seen. We track it with the same seriousness we track test scores, because we believe it deserves that seriousness.

If you're a parent reading this, trying to decide where your child spends their after-school hours — I'd ask you to picture them five years from now. Not just what they'll know. Who they'll be able to be, in a room full of people. That's the child we're building toward, every single day.
